The story of
Veleiros MJ
Experience, passion for the sea, and commitment to every sailboat that bears the MJ name.
It began with a dream
that never left the sea
Our story begins with Marco Lacreta, who had been building sailboats since the 1980s. At the time, he was associated with Nellmar, contributing to boats such as the Cruiser 23 and Cruiser 31. Longtime owners recall that these boats were already known for their strength, lightness, and build quality.
During Brazil's economic difficulties at the time, Marco changed careers and invested in farms in the Vale do Ribeira region. His passion for boatbuilding, however, never faded.
In 2002, a friend asked Marco to build a sailboat on his own farm. What was meant to be a single boat rekindled an old dream. More orders followed, and the business began to grow again.
That is how MJ Yachts / MJ Veleiros began taking shape as a shipyard. Later, the company settled in Jacupiranga's Industrial District, where it began building its own range of sailboats.
Marco Lacreta begins working in boatbuilding with Nellmar, building the Cruiser 23 and Cruiser 31.
A friend's request rekindles the dream: a sailboat built on Marco's own farm.
The shipyard establishes itself in the Industrial District and begins building its own range.
The second generation of the Lacreta family takes the helm, with four models in the range: 34, 38, 44, and 60 feet.
Veleiros MJ became a second-generation family business. Today, Diego and Danielle Lacreta are part of the management team, continuing Marco's work while combining decades of boatbuilding experience with new management practices.
The essence remains the same: to build sailboats people can trust as they pursue their dreams at sea.
